Contributions to the Yukon Liberal Party entitle you to a Political Contributions Tax Credit on your next tax return.  This will reduce the amount of tax you have to pay or, if you have no tax owing, increase the amount of your tax refund.

Both individuals and corporations are eligible for the tax credit.

The maximum annual credit is $500 and the credit amount is calculated as the sum of:

• 75% of the first $100 of contributions
• 50% of the next $450 of contributions
• 33.33% of the next $600 of contributions

For example, if you contribute $100.00, you will receive $75.00 off your taxes, making the actual cost to you only $25.00.

Contributions, Credits, and Cost to You

There is no limit on the amount you can contribute to the Yukon Liberal Party.  However, the tax credit caps out at $500.00, so amounts contributed beyond $1150.00 provide no further tax credit.

The Yukon Liberal Party operates in the Yukon Territory, Canada and accepts membership fees and contributions in Canadian funds.  Only current Yukon Territory residents may purchase Party memberships. Membership cards and tax receipts will be mailed to your home.

When you purchase a ticket to a Yukon Liberal Party event, some of your ticket price covers the event’s costs and some is received as a contribution to the Party. You will receive a tax receipt for the amount you paid above and beyond the cost of the event, so your tax receipt will be for less than the ticket price. Tax receipts, cumulative for all contributions made during the year, are mailed out annually at tax time.

Return and Refund Policy
