Nils Clarke is Yukon Liberals’ Candidate in Riverdale North

WHITEHORSE – Nils Clarke has become the Yukon Liberals’ candidate for Riverdale North in a contested nomination bid with Sunny Patch on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016.

"I am honoured to receive the support and trust of my friends and neighbours of Riverdale North. I look forward to working and campaigning with Sandy’s team," said Clarke.

Clarke has lived in Riverdale North with his wife Janet for over 24 years. Their two sons, Angus and Max, were raised in the constituency. Clarke has practiced the legal profession for 22 years with the Legal Aid Society of Yukon, and serves as CEO of the company for over 16 years.

Ione Christensen, who proposed Clarke’s candidacy, describes him as an individual who cares for his community. She points to his involvement with the MacBride Museum, the Teen Parent Center, the church choir, the Whitehorse Elementary School Council, and his position as a longtime soccer and hockey coach.

Clarke and his wife, Janet, have spent the last weeks knocking on the doors of many neighbours, listening to their concerns, and sharing his vision for the Yukon. He looks forward to meeting all the constituents of Riverdale North. “It’s an exciting time for Yukoners, and it’s an exciting time for the Yukon Liberals. Change is in the air, and I look forward to being a part of it,” he says.

"I'm very pleased to offer voters in Riverdale North a community-minded individual like Nils as their candidate," said Liberal Leader Sandy Silver. "As a long-time resident he is well aware of the issues that matter most to his neighbours."
