Whitehorse: Provincial Premiers are on the right track with the creation of a Health Care Innovation Working Group, says Interim Liberal Party Leader, Darius Elias.  Elias was responding to progress made at the winter meeting of Canada’s provincial and territorial leaders, held recently in Vancouver.

Whitehorse: With an eye towards weathering the very real possibility of another global economic recession the government’s top priority for 2012 should be to maintain a strong economy, says Liberal Leader Darius Elias.

Whitehorse: Vuntut Gwitchin MLA Darius Elias says he is pleased with the performance of the Liberal caucus during the Fall Sitting of the 33rd Yukon Legislative Assembly that ended today.  The second-term MLA said the caucus has set a new direction, one that tilts the party to the right of the political spectrum.

Whitehorse: A three and a half hour debate on the Yukon’s housing crisis provided plenty of opportunity for the government and Official Opposition to fight with each other and little discussion about finding solutions, says Klondike MLA Sandy Silver.

Whitehorse: The Yukon Party government has everything it needs to proceed with drafting whistle-blower legislation, says interim Liberal Leader Darius Elias.  Given the political commitment made by the Minister responsible for the Public Service Commission, Elias is hopeful a bill will soon see the light of day.
