Staci McIntosh seeks nomination as the Liberal candidate for Porter Creek North

Staci McIntosh, a prominent entrepreneur and small business owner, announced today she intends to seek the nomination to be the Yukon Liberal candidate for the Porter Creek North riding in the 2021 territorial election.

“I have always been keenly interested in local politics and I feel that now is the right time to bring my voice forward. I will work hard on behalf of the people who live in Porter Creek North because they deserve strong representation in the Legislative Assembly. I have seen the work that the Liberal team has achieved so far, and I want to help them keep this positive progress going.” Staci McIntosh, nominee for Porter Creek North

McIntosh is putting her name forward with the Yukon Liberal team to continue the good work that has been accomplished so far. She believes under the Liberal government, Yukoners can continue to benefit from the impacts of a strong economy.

McIntosh and her sister operate a successful hair and aesthetics salon in downtown Whitehorse. It is a great partnership and together, over the last 20 years, the sisters have grown Head to Toe from a two person salon to a 20 person, full service hair and beauty studio.

She is a long-time Yukoner, spending the majority of that time in the riding of Porter Creek North. She raised her son in the riding and has been very active in the community. As an avid outdoors person, she spends as much time as possible on the trails and enjoys the recreation opportunities that Yukon provides.

As a small business owner and a member of the community, McIntosh has seen the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic first hand. She appreciates the support that has been provided, and knows the territory’s recovery will take time and effort. McIntosh, as a successful female entrepreneur, wants to add her voice to the conversation about what form the economic and social recovery plans will take.

“Staci is an extremely hard worker and a strong advocate for small business in this territory. Her knowledge and experience will be a great addition to the Yukon Liberal team and I’m honoured to have her put her name forward to represent this important community.” Yukon Liberal Party Leader Sandy Silver
