Sandy Silver today issued the following statement on revelation Government of Yukon hiding Peel numbers:

Whitehorse:  Klondike MLA Sandy Silver is disappointed the Yukon Party government is using its majority to ram through changes to the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act.  Yesterday afternoon the government moved ahead with 2^nd reading of the changes.

Whitehorse:  The Yukon Liberal Caucus remains committed to striking a non-political Commission on Electoral Reform, Darius Elias, Interim Leader, confirmed today.

Whitehorse: Despite the best efforts of the Yukon Liberals, consecutive Yukon Party majority Governments have continued to stonewall Whistleblower Legislation for almost ten years. The current Yukon Party Government is continuing this trend, by telling opposition parties that the issue requires further study.

Whitehorse: The Yukon Liberal Party is condemning the Yukon Party Government for its mishandling of thePeel Planning Process.

Whitehorse: The Yukon Party government has everything it needs to proceed with drafting whistle-blower legislation, says interim Liberal Leader Darius Elias.  Given the political commitment made by the Minister responsible for the Public Service Commission, Elias is hopeful a bill will soon see the light of day.
