Whitehorse:  Today’s announcement of an extension to the staking ban in the Peel planning region undermines the public’s confidence in the government’s ability to bring this project to a conclusion, says Klondike MLA Sandy Silver.

Whitehorse: The Liberal Caucus is commending all MLAs for their unanimous support for Liberal motions on Nutrition North and technology and trades training.  Both Motion #80, standing in the name of Darius Elias, and Motion #106, standing in the name of Sandy Silver, passed yesterday with full support from all three political parties.

Whitehorse: The Yukon Liberal Party is condemning the Yukon Party Government for its mishandling of thePeel Planning Process.

Whitehorse:  Vuntut Gwitchin MLA, Darius Elias and Klondike MLA, Sandy Silver attended the 29^th annual Mineral Exploration Roundup in Vancouver, which ran from January 23-26^th.  Roundup provides a valuable opportunity for attendees to learn about the current status of mineral exploration in Western Canada and to connect with those from businesses, industries, NGOs, First Nations and political circles, who share an interest in this field.  

Whitehorse: Vuntut Gwitchin MLA Darius Elias says he is pleased with the performance of the Liberal caucus during the Fall Sitting of the 33rd Yukon Legislative Assembly that ended today.  The second-term MLA said the caucus has set a new direction, one that tilts the party to the right of the political spectrum.
