Dan Curtis is your new Liberal candidate for Whitehorse Centre

WHITEHORSE – The Yukon Liberal Party is very pleased to announce that Dan Curtis is the party’s confirmed candidate for the Whitehorse Centre. Curtis was acclaimed as the candidate at a nomination meeting Wednesday evening.

Curtis has served as the Mayor of Whitehorse since 2012 and is excited to continue his service to Yukoners at the territorial government level.

Curtis is a firm believer in the benefit of collaboration between all levels of government. He put this in action as Mayor and knows from experience that all levels of government, including First Nations, municipal, territorial, and federal must work hand in hand for the benefit of all Yukoners.

As the long-serving mayor of Whitehorse, Curtis knows firsthand the impact of the pandemic on businesses and citizens, but also their resiliency in the face of adversity. He's ready to bring his passion and commitment to the territory and face these challenges by serving his community in a new way.

“Dan is an absolute champion for the City of Whitehorse and the territory in general. He has committed himself to public service and knows what is required to get the job done. We are very happy to have Dan on the Liberal 2021 team.” Yukon Liberal Party Leader Sandy Silver

“The people of Whitehorse Centre deserve a strong, positive voice in the Yukon Legislative Assembly. The voices of downtown residents need to be heard and I know that there is a way to balance the priorities of all the people who use downtown Whitehorse for the benefit of the riding as a whole. I will work tirelessly to make sure their voices are heard.” Dan Curtis, Yukon Liberal Candidate for Whitehorse Centre
