Beverly Cooper confirmed as Yukon Liberal Party candidate for Whistle Bend North
WHITEHORSE – Beverly Cooper has officially been confirmed as the Yukon Liberal Party candidate for Whistle Bend North. She announced her intention to seek the nomination on August 26, 2025.
Beverly is a well-known community leader, educator, and longtime advocate for accessible education and inclusive community planning. She has worked closely with newcomers, seniors, and Indigenous families to ensure Whistle Bend remains a safe, welcoming place for everyone. Her leadership has been key in developing community-led initiatives that reflect local priorities.
Beverly is passionate about supporting vibrant, connected communities through investments in public infrastructure, transportation, and public health. She believes deeply in collaborative leadership and brings both a strong voice and deep compassion to her candidacy.
The next territorial election must happen on or before November 3, 2025. As one candidate stepped forward to represent the Yukon Liberals in this riding, the nomination meeting scheduled for September 9, 2025 was not needed.
“Beverly Cooper is the kind of leader who doesn’t just listen — she acts. Her work in education and community-building speaks for itself, and we know she’ll be a tireless advocate for Whistle Bend North in the Legislature.”
Mike Pemberton, Leader of the Yukon Liberal Party
“Whistle Bend North is a growing, thriving neighbourhood — but it’s facing real pressures too. I’m running because I want to make sure our community keeps growing in a way that works for everyone. That means better transit, stronger public services, and policies that support everyday Yukoners.”
