Yukon Liberal Party announces leadership change
WHITEHORSE – The Yukon Liberal Party announced today that Mike Pemberton has resigned as Party Leader, effective immediately. The Party Executive has appointed Vuntut Gwitchin MLA Debra-Leigh Reti as Interim Leader of the Yukon Liberal Party. Ms. Reti will continue to serve as the MLA for Vuntut Gwitchin, ensuring that the voices and priorities of Old Crow remain central to her work.
The Annual General Meeting will proceed as planned on Thursday, January 22, where members will address regular business, including constitutional amendments, financial reporting, and the election of a new executive.
Looking ahead, the Yukon Liberal Party will build on a foundation of values that resonate with Yukoners during a time of growing uncertainty and complex global relations. Yukoners are seeking stability, connection, and leadership that is respectful, thoughtful, and grounded. The Yukon Liberal Party remains committed to widening the tent - working in partnership with First Nations, and in collaboration with communities across the territory - to improve daily life through better health care, housing, energy, and safer communities.
Anyone interested in getting involved and helping shape the Party’s future is encouraged to connect for more information.
