The Yukon Liberal Party is pleased to announce that Mike Pemberton has been officially confirmed as a candidate in the party’s leadership race.

Mike Pemberton is a longtime businessperson, a dedicated, community volunteer, and a proud husband and father. Pemberton has spent over three decades working in the
private sector and serving the public in volunteer and leadership roles - including as Chair of the Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Yukon Development Corporation, Yukon Energy board member, Yukon Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal member, and President of the Yukon Community Crime Stoppers Association and more recently a federal nominee to the Yukon Water Board.

“Like so many Yukoners, I’ve felt the weight of the last few years - the uncertainty, the pressure on families, businesses, and communities,” said Pemberton. “But I also see the strength we’ve shown, and the opportunities ahead. I’m running because I believe the Yukon is an incredible place to live, work, and raise a family - and I know it can be even better.” He added, “My number one concern is security for Yukon citizens, and that includes safety, cost of living, and our economy. I have always been motivated by helping others achieve a better life.”
