Mike Pemberton Party Leader

The Yukon Liberal Party is proud to announce that Mike Pemberton has been elected as the new Leader of the Party following its 2025 Leadership Convention held this evening in Whitehorse.

With over 1,000 party members eligible to vote, the event reflected strong engagement and momentum as the Party looks to the next election. A total of 873 votes were cast in the leadership election, including 2 invalid ballots.

The final results are as follows:
●Mike Pemberton – 442 votes (50.63% of valid votes)
●Doris Bill – 429 votes (49.14% of valid votes)
●Invalid ballots – 2

Pemberton earned the leadership following a positive and successful campaign alongside fellow candidate Doris Bill.

Mike Pemberton is a longtime businessperson, a dedicated community volunteer, and a proud husband and father. He has spent more than three decades working in the private sector and serving the public in volunteer and leadership roles – including as Chair of the Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Yukon Development Corporation, board member for Yukon Energy, member of the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal, and President of the Yukon Community Crime Stoppers Association.
