Real results through partnerships and Reconciliation

Posted by Yukon Liberal Party President on October 30, 2025

WHITEHORSE – Yukoners know that lasting results come from working together. Our new Liberal government will put partnerships and Reconciliation at the heart of every decision, working closely with Yukon First Nations, municipalities, and local organizations to build stronger, more vibrant communities.

By collaborating with First Nations, municipalities, developers, and non-profits, our government will make more land available, building easier, redevelop unused lots, and grow a made-in-Yukon modular housing industry. These partnerships aim to increase the supply of safe, affordable homes and give Yukoners more choices for where and how they live.

Health care will improve through collaboration. Programs like Shäw Kwä’ą – Health and Wellness Yukon, developed with Yukon First Nations, provide culturally safe and locally informed care. Our government will expand team-based primary care clinics, strengthen home care in rural communities, and improve supports for health workers and people recovering from substance use. Yukoners can expect more access to care closer to home, particularly in communities that need it most.

Community and recreation programs will grow through partnership. Support for local agriculture, the Yukon Community Recreation Assistance Grant, and preparation for a potential Canada Winter Games in 2035 will ensure programs reflect what communities want and need. By working together, communities will have more opportunities to be active, enjoy arts and culture, and support local businesses.

Behind these initiatives is a dedicated public service, working every day with communities to turn ideas into action. Our government will continue building these partnerships, listening carefully, and tackling challenges where more work is needed to make the Yukon a place where everyone can thrive.

Partnerships and Reconciliation are the foundation of how we do the work. Real progress in the Yukon happens when we sit down together, listen, and find solutions as partners. Whether it’s housing, health care, or community programs, the best ideas come from Yukoners themselves. By working side-by-side with First Nations, communities, and local organizations, we can keep building a Yukon where everyone belongs and has the chance to thrive.
