Vida Pelayo confirmed as Yukon Liberal Party candidate for Whistle Bend South

WHITEHORSE - Vida Pelayo has officially been confirmed as the Yukon Liberal Party candidate for Whistle Bend South. Vida announced her intention to seek the nomination on August 27, 2025.

Vida brings a strong voice and lived experience to her candidacy. As a community advocate, youth mentor, and childcare provider, and dedicated neighbour she has spent years working on the frontlines of social services and education supporting families and building connections in Whistle Bend and across Whitehorse.  Her leadership in early learning, cultural programs, and volunteer initiatives has earned her the trust and respect of her neighbours in Whistle Bend and beyond.

Vida believes in a Yukon where people feel heard, seen, and supported - especially in growing neighbourhoods like Whistle Bend. She’s committed to strengthening health care, expanding affordable housing, and building an inclusive, forward-looking territory that reflects the values of all Yukoners.

The next territorial election must happen on or before November 3, 2025. As one candidate stepped forward to represent the Yukon Liberals in this riding, the nomination meeting scheduled for September 10, 2025 is no longer needed.
