Yukon Liberals ready for election

WHITEHORSE – The Yukon Liberal Party has joined Yukoners in welcoming a date for the upcoming election.

“Yukoners are asking for change and they want to Be Heard,” said Yukon Liberals leader Sandy Silver. “Yukon Liberals have listened and we are ready to lead the political change that is desperately needed in our territory.”

Yukon Liberals will focus on five main priorities if elected to government on November 7th. Growing the economy while protecting the environment, collaborating with First Nations for the benefit of Yukon, helping communities thrive, creating programs tailored to the needs of Yukoners and good governance.

“These five priorities are what Yukoners have told us they want a new government to focus on,” Silver said.

Silver says the Liberals are the only party capable of managing these interlocking priorities.

“We can diversify this economy by working with the private sector. We are the only party that supports sustainable resource development and can forge the relationships with First Nation governments that are necessary to create good jobs for Yukoners. The Yukon Liberals have a vision for a Yukon where all have a voice, a choice and a place. Yukoners deserve to Be Heard”.

Silver said he is proud to lead a full slate of Yukon Liberal candidates into the campaign.

“I’m proud of the diverse, experienced team that has come together to run for the Yukon Liberals in this election,” he said. “It’s a strong, experienced group of people. They own businesses, they’ve held elected office, and they have management skills. Our team understands the social issues facing Yukoners.  When Yukoners see a Liberal candidate coming to their door they are meeting someone who will allow them to Be Heard, someone they can trust and someone who will ensure their issues and concerns are represented when decisions are made.  We are ready to hit the ground running as an inclusive, respectful and accountable government the day after the election.”
